WHO Release Global TB Report 2021
The Philippines is one of the high burden countries where essential tuberculosis-related services were worst affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, provision of essential TB services reportedly fell to 2012-levels globally. Sixteen countries accounted for 93% of this reduction, with the Philippines, India, and Indonesia being the worst affected. The Philippines saw the second-largest decrease of annual notifications between 2019 and 2020, with a 37% drop. Actions to mitigate and reverse these impacts are urgently required.
