CLCHD, USAID, GMA TV encourage locals to get tested for TB

GMA TV Network, one of the country’s biggest television networks, through its Central Luzon regional TV program supports USAID’s TB initiatives. In a recent episode of “Mornings with GMA Regional TV,” the network featured USAID and University Research Co., LLC (URC)’s partnership with the Department of Health–Central Luzon Center for Health Development in the conduct of TB active case finding activities in communities and intensified case finding initiatives in health facilities to find and treat Filipinos with TB amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The special episode aims to encourage stakeholders especially those who belong to the high-risk groups for TB to participate in the free chest X-ray activities of USAID in collaboration with local health offices. Those who will be found to have TB will be referred to the nearest health facility for proper treatment and care. This is the first of a series of episodes for the #EndTB campaign. GMA Regional TV will also be sharing inspiring stories of TB survivors and the challenges of healthcare workers in the implementation of local TB programs in these most challenging times.
